Mountain view retreat in Fern Valley on the creek with amazing views
This unique home is located in Fern Valley atop the majestic mountain town of Idyllwild, California. The Big Rock Creek Lodge is nestled in the pines above the rushing waters of Strawberry Creek and backs up to the prestigious gated community of Alpen Woods. This home is 3 bedrooms, 2 baths. The exquisite master bedroom has scenic views through mitered windows with an unobstructed, close-up view, of Suicide Rock. Suicide Rock can also be viewed from the expansive deck. On the large deck there is also a BBQ and a spa, with Strawberry Creek right next to the home. Hang outside and listen to the babbling creek while you enjoy the beautiful scenery. The cozy family room has an exclusive rock fireplace and a 42 inch TV with enough room to entertain friends and family. The lovely knotty pine kitchen has stainless steel appliances and a breakfast nook. “Big Rock Creek Lodge is just steps away from Humber Parks’ hiking trails and sled runs. Come enjoy a relaxing weekend among the pines and all of the natural beauty that Idyllwild has to offer!

Very nice home tucked away on the mountainside. There was no need for my daughters sound machine with the soft lull of the creek in the backyard. One of the best views to wake up to in the master bedroom. Host was very helpful and proactive in checking in and making sure we had everything we needed.

We enjoyed our short visit to Idyllwild and from what we saw hope to return. This cabin was very comfortable, the view in the master bedroom was amazing. Every where you look there are beautiful views or unique and well chosen artwork. It was a little hard to cook in the kitchen (stove was not easy to adjust flame and pots didn’t have matching lids) but we found wonderful restaurants. The deck was so peaceful to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.

This is our favorite rental in Idyllwild. The home has many beautiful touches - copper and gemstones throughout. The many windows artfully bring the outdoors alive while inside. The deck is a beautiful viewing area. The master bedroom upstairs is magical. Waking up there is like a dream.

Absolutely loved this cabin for our family getaway. It was so spacious and our favorite part was the big deck. It was great having no neighbors in front of us so we truly enjoyed the backdrop of the creek and the trees. Would definitely stay here again. Somehow my fiancé and I got locked out by accident and the rental agency were super quick in helping us out. We also had a small issue with the hot water not coming out any of the bathrooms but again quick response. Thanks again for this lovely weekend! 🌲

The manager was prompt to respond to any of our requests and had someone personally bring us things like towels etc, which we asked for more of. Had a relaxing weekend getaway in this beautiful, clean house! We spent hours staring at the STUNNING view from the backyard and master bedroom and we loved looking at the stars from the jacuzzi. The house gets a bit chilly but the fire, plentiful blankets and electric blankets on every bed was greatly appreciated! Would recommend the bunk bed room for kids only (not adults) as the bed is a little small and there is no closet (only shelves). Also, the master bedroom is a loft so walls are open to downstairs, no sleeping in :) Great communication with host as well - highly recommend!

Beautiful space in a stunning location. We were lucky enough to be there during a big snowfall, which was a magical experience... but did come with the downside of having to shovel the driveway and walkway in order to get out. The hot tub, fireplace, and views made it all worth it.

We celebrated a birthday here and it was perfect to escape into the trees. The cabin has incredible views that make the place feel very private, despite being so close to other cabins.
It is a bit of a ways from town if you are looking to walk, but otherwise just a quick drive. We found we had everything we needed at the cabin, and spent most of our time there, anyway.
Worth noting that the master bedroom is actually a loft open to the downstairs and you can hear everything - light sleepers be aware. Other than that (and an odd infestation of fly's outside) the cabin was wonderful and we would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend!
New Spirit was probably the most seamless management company I've ever rented from. Thank you to them for everything!

Fabulous, architecturally stunning home. The view from the master bedroom is exquisite. Kitchen was stocked with all the equipment we needed and we appreciated the games and DVDs. We had some issues with warm water in the showers, otherwise everything was perfect.

The most beautiful cabin in the world. Very secluded and cozy. You will feel like you find the perfect place to have a quite and peaceful weekend. Perfect for writers, artists, it was inspiring. The view is very nice. They have a relaxing and new hot tub which we enjoy all the time, day and night, THE BEST! The beds are confortable and everything is super clean and works properly. We appreciated the design and details of the house. You can see your neighbors and they can see you from each house decks but it didn't bother us much. We loved this place, it felt like home. I can't wait to go in the winter. The communication with the host and the staff was always excellent.

This house was the perfect spot for a relaxing and rejuvenating weekend. The house has giant windows overlooking Strawberry Creek below and Suicide Rock above. An incredible location to say the least. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a great meal. The hot tub was HOT and had great jets. The Master Bedroom was hard to leave. The windows looking out at the mountain are like a massive nature TV. I could have watched the birds soar and the trees sway for hours each morning. This place is a real gem and we'll be back!

This house had cable tv in 2 of the three bedrooms, heated blankets in the bedrooms as well. They had a coffee maker, lots of cooking basics like oil and basic spices, even coffee and tea. The hot tub was waiting for us at 95 degrees. They even had a pre-lit artificial Christmas tree, as we visited in December and I lost my mind with excitement when I saw it, since I dont have one in my tiny LA apartment. Plenty of pots and pans and mugs and wine glasses, don't worry! Also yes there are can and wine openers respectively. I came up with friends and we enjoyed ourselves but next time i might like to come up here on a solo writing retreat, the house is made for that.

Service from “New Spirit” was excellent... we even got an assist with some snow removal (thankfully management encouraged us to leave a “low to the ground” auto at their rental office) due to the snow plow piling it up next to our car. I can’t say enough good things about this rental and the management. All of our needs/requests were attended to before and during rental. The extra wood we purchased was plentiful and A GREAT IDEA when heading to snow country where power may go out. Can’t wait to return to Idyllwild and this awesome rental. The hot tub was GREAT.

this home was beautiful, we especially enjoyed the view from the master bedroom, the large window view from the bed was incredible. we also were happy to bring our dogs and they loved the squirrels around the property, the only downfall was the spa was not working, that was a bummer, we planned to use it and picked the place because of that reason.

This is a beautiful cozy home with spectacular views from the master bedroom, kitchen, and spacious back deck. Great location within easy walking distance to hiking trails (Devil's Slide/Tahquitz Peak and Ernie Maxwell) & only a short drive to town. As always the New Spirit staff is friendly & helpful. Highly recommend.

Had a great time in Idyllwild. The house was great, lots of nice personal touches. The setting is beautiful, really feels out in the wilderness but just a couple of minutes into town. We will definitely return.

The most beautiful cabin in the world. Very secluded and cozy. You will feel like you find the perfect place to have a quite and peaceful weekend. Perfect for writers, artists, it was inspiring. The view is very nice. They have a relaxing and new hot tub which we enjoy all the time, day and night, THE BEST! The beds are confortable and everything is super clean and works properly. We appreciated the design and details of the house. You can see your neighbors and they can see you from each house decks but it didn't bother us much. We loved this place, it felt like home. I can't wait to go in the winter. The communication with the host and the staff was always excellent.

This beautiful, serene cabin was the perfect escape from the workday world for me and my wife. This home is truly special, from the jaw-dropping views from the deck and master bedroom to the thoughtful, nature-based architecture that runs through ever facet of the place. Metal, wood, stone and sky are woven together in perfect balance inside this unique gem, and the owners have added even more artistry and elegance throughout with sculptures and art pieces. The home was so comfortable and inviting we did not want to leave. The master bedroom has soaring vaulted windows with astonishing views of the nearby mountain peaks and a sky full of stars at night. It has ever amenity you could want and quality appliances and furnishings. We ate out on the vast deck overlooking the creek and took in the autumn landscape and loved every minute of our stay.

Beautiful Home Nestled in The Woods

Upper Rim Rock is exactly as photographed, beautifully appointed, quiet, equally secluded and convenient. As much as it is close to other homes when you are in it you don't really see any other homes so you feel like you have privacy. The views from the master are incredible, the picture window are truly magnificent both in daytime and night. The home is on the darker side but that adds to the 'cabin in the woods' feeling. The home had games, movies, and plush towels and generally felt very homey for a quick getaway. Monica and Niki from New Spirit were very friendly and helpful. Idyllwild is a lovely, sleepy town. We appreciated Niki's recommendation to try the Town Baker, delicious food, friendly people.

We go to Idyllwild every year and have rented homes for each of our stays with New Spirit. We love working with all the girls in the office always so helpful. This property is perfect, the views are stunning. The home was very cleaning and cozy. Everything was wonderful! I can't wait to go back. On Saturday morning I sat outside listening to the birds and drinking my coffee I was so relaxed and felt so at peace surrounded by nature. Seems, we all need to escape from city life and our cell phones at least once a year. It was great to leave it behind for a weekend and appreciate life from a different view. We went to dinner at Cafe Aroma and it wonderful as always. Thank you Monica, we will see you next year.

Inspiring architecture both inside and out with nice setting along creek and that in your face view of suicide rock made us want to just stay at the property and enjoy being there which we did plus the location was such that exploring just the local area by foot very mtn refreshing. Everything we needed in terms of amenities seemed to be there and really the whole place was like new and rental company very easy to deal with and helpful. All made for great couple day get away.
