“Old Idyllwild” charm. Authentic mountain cabin built in 1923, right on the edge of Strawberry Creek (literally). You can open any window in the cabin and hear the seasonal creek running through Idyllwild. A short, lovely 10 minute walk (4/10 of a mile) from the center of town. Secluded location hidden from road, surrounded by beautiful grove of pines, redwoods, oaks and dogwoods. A perfect retreat to reconnect and rejuvenate. Home is also walking distance to the local creekside amphitheater. Stop by there on the weekend during the summer to enjoy concerts in the park. Or listen from the back deck the sound of music filtering through the trees.

Cozy Cottage in the Pines

Perfectly charming and comfortable cabin on the creek. Can't beat the location with the creek flowing and the walking bridge which gets you into the town in 10 minutes. The history and charm of the place is really special. Will be back!

I stay here a couple times each year. The staff who run New Spirit are excellent and the house is amazing. Close to down town Idyllwild and private and a wonderful house.

We really enjoyed our two weeks stay in this charming vintage cabin. The creek location is perfect. The furnishings were very comfortable and the rental agency staff we’re excellent in helping to resolve a minor issue. Perfect place to read a book, bbq on the deck or explore the town.

We had a great stay at this great cabin next to the stunning creek. Four of us women got to reconnect and celebrate a friend’s birthday. The deck was absolutely perfect for enjoying our coffee in the morning and our wine and charcuterie in the afternoon. The sounds of the creek were so peaceful and the beds were so comfortable for a great way to recharge on our getaway! I would highly recommend this cabin as will be back!

True to its namesake

I don't believe in a love at first sight for people but I do believe in it for places and that's exactly what happened when we arrived here: we fell in love. My mother was already planning our next visit when she first stepped in. The cabin is absolutely beautiful. Everything from the furniture to the decorations to the homely touches encapsulates everything that we love about Idyllwild: it's timelessness, it's humility, it's grace, it's charm, it's simplicity. We are definitely going to return here, sooner rather than later.

Snowy Cabin

Great mountain cabin. Plenty of space for our family of five. We had trouble turning on the lights in the main living area at first, but the property manager was very helpful and arranged to send someone out to help us. Luckily we figured it out ourselves.

My brother and I had a wonderful brother's getaway weekend at this super charming and cozy hidden heaven hideaway. Loved the authentic retro vibes, the babbling creek just outside, woodland visitors on the back deck (had woodpeckers, blue jays, robins and grey squirrels all on the back porch trees at one time). Lots of snow prevented us from driving to town, so we walked. It wasn't far and was quite nice to do so. Everything was comfortable and clean, and the rental company was helpful, friendly and accommodating -- and the rental price was very reasonable, especially in comparison to the big rental sites and other more popular nearby mountain towns. It was our first time to Idyllwild, despite living in LA for most of our lives, and we loved it. Not an 'active' town like Big Bear or Arrowhead. More sleepy, hippie and artistic, which is/was our speed generally anyway. If this cabin allowed dogs, we'd be back with the whole family on a regular basis. But since it doesn't, and we understand that - this is a pristine 1930's cabin - we'll just have to keep it as our brothers-only getaway.

Great Vintage Cabin

This is a great vintage cabin for a nice getaway. The kitchen is well equipped, We love the original wood paneling and vintage artwork..
Perfect for a vintage property. The deck looks over Strawberry Creek and is cool and shaded. Nice separation between the two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one on each side of the cabin. We will return.

What a “Hidden” Treasure.

We were extremely satisfied with our stay at Hidden Heaven. It had a cozy yet spacious feel to it with everything we needed to keep us and our guests comfortable. The creek right off the back deck of the house was beautiful with calming sounds of running water over the rocks. We also loved how secluded it was. We thought the huge uncovered windows on the front of the house, though there to provide a spectacular view of the trees and landscaping, would make us uncomfortable that anyone could see inside, but we actually were completely hidden from view. The cabin is aptly named "Hidden Heaven". I also have to mention how patient and helpful the property management was with any questions we had. I would highly reccomend this cabin to anyone.

Such an adorable, cozy place to stay! My husband and I stayed for a long weekend, with two friends staying with us for one night. There was plenty of space. We were pleasantly surprised at how clean the house was, given the fact that it’s older and has a lot of old furniture and decor. We especially loved the deck overlooking the creek.. so peaceful and relaxing. The other perk of this spot is how close it is to town. We’ll definitely be back someday!

This house is everything and more. I want to live there. It has so much charm and it's all natural and true to the period. So many little touches (postcards and a writing desk). The best thing is the views. The very large nearly floor to ceiling very large paned window in the living room allows light and nature to come in. The view from the bedroom with the plaid quilt has a wonderful view of the backyard and a door to let air and sound in. I couldn't have loved it more

This is a wonderful cabin. Right on the creek so kids can play while you relax. Well maintained. Loved the main room and fireplace. The patio outside was wonderful, so peaceful and lots of fun on the swing. Very short walk either on the road or up the creek into town.

Nice Rustic Cabin in a Great Location

We stayed for a long weekend and really enjoyed our time at HH. The cabin is spacious and spotless. The front yard is a forest! And Strawberry Creek is right outside the back deck. Ideal! We were able to cross the creek and walk into town, which was so nice. Plus, it's quiet and dark at night and if you have a fire going, very cozy!

The beds are comfortable. There is plenty of hot water. No dishwasher in the kitchen, but that's just an excuse to get takeout from the awesome restaurants in town. The lighting is all lamp-based, and get get dim, and the main room can get cold because of the expansive we just got a fire going and really loved our time there.

A really magical space, we cant wait to get back. Nothing beats being right on the creek. You are so close to town but still feels secluded. Many fun games and beautiful spaces. The view from masterbedroom is goreous.

Old cabin nestled right next to a creek. We spent most of our time looking at the creek from the deck. The kitchen was well stocked with all your cooking essentials but was dimly lit so it was difficult to see when cooking. The furnishings were dated with a rustic feel which gives the cabin its charm. My only complaint was the uncomfortable sofa & toilets that were very slow to flush. The cabin was a 10 min walk to town so it’s location is perfect.

Management was very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely come back again.

A Tranquil Retreat

Staying in the cabin was amazing. I wanted peace and quiet away from the city and I achieved it. The property is clean, roomy and has everything that you need for your stay. It is tucked away from the main road so it gives an effect of being secluded in the woods. It is also conveniently close to town in case you need to go to the market or dine out. I definitely recommend this property to everyone and hope to come back to it myself another time.

Peaceful Cabin on the Creek!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hidden Heaven. Perfect family of 4 getaway for us. What a lovely place to stay inside and out. The walk in to town was very close. The cabin was just lovely inside and the deck, big windows and creek were a big plus. The creek was definitely running and was very soothing at night. Easy drive to most hiking trails. Would definitely recommend it ��

Heavenly Stay

Hidden Heaven is truly a gem in Idyllwild. Strawberry Creek runs right below the patio balcony and lulls you to sleep at night. The home is well appointed and has space for a small family or two couples. The driveway is a bit steep and may be difficult in the winter if ice or snow, but not a problem in the summertime. Thank you New Spirit for accommodating me on a short notice getaway from the city.

Well earned getaway

The house was very comfortable but the rear deck was outstanding with strawberry creek running strong and sounding soothing. Our only complaint was the TV cable. We wanted to watch Jeopardy but an error message popped up every minute or so and shut the program down. We contacted the rental office but it never was resolved. Other wise we had a great stay and would stay again.

This was a great cabin and fit two families (with kids) comfortably. The place was very clean. The kitchen was stocked with everything and nicely labeled as well. Wish the screen door to the back patio covered the entire door---there is a gap at the top of the screen door, so we didn't want to leave it open and let mosquitos/bugs into the cabin.
The kids liked the disney movies on hand. Big comfortable couch. Unfortunately, there wasn't much of a creek as it was summer time. Nice short walk to town. Would stay here again.

Hidden Heaven Getaway

I rented this cozy cabin for my husbands 40th birthday as a nice respite from Los Angeles. We were greeted in a very friendly and thoughtful manor and my husband was given a birthday cupcake! We arrived at the cabin and loved the rustic, yet well maintained property! It was surrounded by trees and was along Strawberry Creek. Unfortunately the creek was dried up from the summer but we imagined what it would look like in the spring! We appreciated the well stocked Kitchen pan, utensils and other ware need to make a wonderful meal! The one thing we were let down by was that was created a fire later that evening. it was fine for about ten minutes and then the entire cabin filled with smoke! This put a huge damper on our stay! We made sure the window was open, flew was open and the firewood was towards the back of the fireplace! We did notice that the rocks in the front of the fireplace were very blackened so I imagined this has happened before. We then tried to use the DVD player as we rent a movie in town and it was broken. It had said error on the screen and the player, we tried everything including switching out dvds, to blowing inside to get rid of dust, so the evening was a bust! We did enjoy the morning after having breakfast outside on the patio among the trees! We did enjoy the cabin but we may not stay at this location again until we can make sure that the fireplace is functional!

PEACEFUL CABIN IN THE WOODS

This is a peaceful cabin, set well back from the street, with space for a full family with a large table in the dining area and lots of seating around the wood burning fireplace. The kitchen is well supplied, all appliances work well. We enjoyed the gas grill and especially enjoyed waking up to the sounds of birds and little animals. The creek was pretty low, but expect it would be lovely to hear when it is full.

Perfect Family Rental

Our stay at Hidden Heaven greatly exceeded our expectations! The home was clean, not cluttered, felt homey, quiet! Furniture was older but felt clean, and the beds were comfortable for us! Adored the deck and view over the creek! We enjoyed dinners outside every evening! My three little kids loved exploring the outside perimeter of the cabin! The kitchen was incredibly well stocked and well labeled, which I really appreciated! Very close to the village (like a 2 minute drive). We can't wait to return!

The Hidden Heaven lived up to its name. They didn't say in the ad, but you can skip across Strawberry creek into the park and walk 5 minutes to the Idyllwild Brewpub... pretty awesome. Beautiful cabin and setting!

Probably the most alpine backyard in Idyllwild

The back yard is right on the creek, it is beautiful, and it is probably the only place on the creek where you dont look at another place across the creek. It was PERFECT! SOOOOOOO peaceful, just a few squirels and you can open your window and hear the creek burble all night. When I go back, I WILL rent this place again.
