Welcome to Foxtail! This quaint cabin the the woods has 2 bedrooms and sleeps up to 6 guests. Perfect home for small families or groups. The home has two bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed and the second with bunk bed that has queen sized beds. Hang out in the living room and binge watch your favorite TV show while you cozy up by the fireplace. The living room also has a futon that converts into a queen bed. Large deck with beautiful tree views and outdoor dining set allows you to enjoy a meal with a view. Kitchen is fully equipped with all the essentials to make a stellar meal for your group. Home is a little over half a mile away from outskirts of town and a little over a mile away from town center. The home is also walking distance to Strawberry Creek. Come stay at Black Fox Lodge and enjoy a peaceful and serene getaway in the mountains!

There is a $35 dog fee per night; Dogs beyond 1 must be approved; additional pet fees apply per pet per night.
*Airbnb and select 3rd party marketing sites will receive a separate charge after the initial booking either via the booking platform (Airbnb Resolutions Center) or direct charge.
Guest entry instructions: Check in is located at the main office
Parking notes: There is free parking for 2 vehicles.
County permit number: 732 Review House Rules for our Full Rental Agreement Guests booking this home under the age of 25 years of age will provide an additional security deposit of $250-$500 on the day of arrival, depending on the home
(Seasonal wood delivery, IF AVAILABLE $25 per bundle, approximately 20 pieces. Require at least 5 days notification for a Friday arrival date or at least 3 days for any other day of the week arrival date. There are no refunds since we do order and pay for this wood in advance,* exceptions if we are unable to deliver)

The house was great and had a cozy vibe and was very clean and well organized. We loved the jacuzzi its a nice touch being able to hangout outside warm while seeing the trees moving around you from the wind. A very relaxing experience. We would definitely consider coming back again!

This is an older cabin with numerous upgrades. It's convenient to Idyllwild's downtown, about two miles away. I have stayed there twice and find it to be a good value at around $100 per night, give or take. The bedrooms are small, but the living area is pretty big. The dirt driveway might be a challenge for some in wet or snow. We also enjoyed $2 Taco Thursday at La Casita.

This is a hidden gem..... PERFECT mountain getaway. When you enter the home you are greeted by a gorgeous rock fireplace in a spacious living room. The main bedroom has a queen bed that I could have slept on for hours. Well-stocked kitchen, love the open cabinet concept. Reminded my of my younger days visiting with my grandparents, the breakfast nook is just adorable.
The best part is waking up and hearing nothing but birds chirping is ideal. Please get up and enjoy your first cup of coffee on the front porch, passer byers wave hello and welcome you to Idyllwild.
Very grateful and pleased with the experience at Black Fox.

Nice Little Cabin Experience

This is a cute little cabin with definitely enough kitchenware to prepare meals. It might appear a little old, but it was clean and had a nice feel to it. Idyllwild is the best - not overcrowded but it has enough stores to get anything needed. We came in February, just after a snow, so it was cold, which would have been fine because we had the fireplace and the floor heater, but when the pilot of the floor heater went out, we had NO heat from it all night! I wish I had called the management company because they would have come out that night and restarted the heater, but we waited till the morning and spent a cold night. However, the management company made up for it by gifting us about 25 logs the next day and we were good to go till the end of our time. Oh! and we tried running the 2 space heaters on full blast - so our power completely shut down - fortunately it was pretty easy to restart by switching all the breakers! On our 2nd day we visited the Nature Center and climbed a hill to play in the snow --it was perfect for my granddaughter, my daughter and me - first snowball fight I ever had! Can't beat that :)
A Classic Mountain Cabin Experience!

My girlfriend and I originally had a booking at another cabin, but due to the recent turbulent weather in Idyllwild, we got upgraded to staying at the Black Fox. Our experience was great. The cabin was very warm and cozy, and the deck offered great views. We couldn't see much due to the clouds, but we could still make out the distant peaks and pines. The living room was large and spacious. The heater worked like a charm, allowing up to be comfortable while watching Netflix on the large screen smart tv. The cabin has a bunk bed in addition to a regular sized queen bed, both of which are comfortable to sleep in. The kitchen also has the amenities that you need when staying in a cabin. The customer service we received from New Spirt Vacation Homes was outstanding. Lydia treated us great, and we appreciate her for upgrading us to this cabin. I highly recommend the Black Fox, and doing business with New Spirit Vacation Homes, if you're looking for a place to stay in Idyllwild!
A breath of fresh air at Black Fox Lodge

We had a wonderful stay at Black Fox Lodge. First, let me say that the staff at New Spirit were wonderful and saved our trip as a home that we had rented from another agency canceled on us same day (Vacasa). The cabin was cozy, well-equipped, very quiet and had a great outdoor area. We unfortunately were there on a very hot weekend so the cabin was very hot in the afternoon, having no AC. But we wanted a simple, cozy cabin with nice surroundings and that's exactly what it was. We had a great weekend.

Amazing stay

We arrived to our Black Fox property offered by New Spirit Vacation Homes. My wife and I drove 4 hours to get away from the city heat and busy life. We got to the office and were very happy to know that they are practicing social distancing. Lidia, who is the Assistant Office Manager for the company was warm and inviting to check us in to the property and get out "welcome" kit which includes a ton of information for the community and restaurants in the area. In addition to this she gave us some information on the town and some good hiking trails, this being our first time up in Idyllwild was wonderful information to have.
Shortly after that she gave us turn by turn instructions to the home with key in hand. It was quick and to the point but she was willing and able to answer any of our questions.
We got to the home which was lovely, opened the door to the living area to the right and the bedrooms to the left. The home was very comfortable for the 2 of us as it could comfortably sleep 4. The living room is nice and big with 3 windows for good air flow during those warmer days. The rustic home is the perfect getaway in a quiet area. I hear during the summer you can listen to music from the Arts Academy just down the street.
We will be back and have already planned our 2 week stay at Black Fox.
